What are the hours of operation?

Our Radiologists read cases 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including Holidays from 7 AM to 9 PM, CST. Our Cardiologists read cases Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, CST.

What are the fees for your services?

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. VitalRads does not have any contracts for you to sign.

Are there a minimum number of cases I must submit each month?

No. You can send as few or as many cases to our Specialists as you would like.

Do I need any special equipment to use your services?

No special equipment is needed to use our services; however, you will need access to the internet, a computer and the ability to add a DICOM destination to your imaging software. Please note, images that are not sent directly to our DICOM server are subject to an attachment fee.

Why do I need a telemedicine service?

The primary purpose of telemedicine and teleradiology is to elevate the standard of care for animal patients. Board-certified veterinary specialists can be accessed more easily as a resource for backup of routine clinical findings in everyday cases or for challenging cases where a specific specialty is required.

What is a Veterinary Specialist?

A Veterinary Specialist is a Veterinarian who has completed additional training in a specific area of veterinary medicine and has passed an examination that evaluates their knowledge and skills in that specialty area. Currently, there are 22 AVMA-recognized veterinary specialty organizations comprising 41 distinct specialties.

Which imaging modalities does VitalRads interpret?

VitalRads Specialists read and interpret X-Rays, Abdominal Ultrasounds, Echocardiograms, CTs, P.E.T CTs, MRIs, Nuclear Medicine Scans and ECGs.

Does VitalRads read exotics or large animal cases?

Yes, we have several Radiologists that read and interpret both exotic or large animal cases.

How do I sign-up for your services?

To sign up for our services, there are 2 easy steps to follow. The first step is to go to our website, www.vitalrads.com and click on, “Sign Up”. Once we have received your submission, we will activate your account. The second step is to add our DICOM server to your imaging software so that you can send your images directly to our server, as needed. Please note, images that are not sent directly to our DICOM server are subject to an attachment fee.

How do I submit a case to VitalRads?

First, send your images to our DICOM server. Second, login to the VitalRads website, fill out and submit a new case request. Once our Specialists receive your request, they will look for your images on our server and read out the case.

How do I get my reports back?

Reports, as well as their statuses, are available for viewing and downloading on our website 24/7. Reports can also be emailed, faxed or both.
